American Kestrel
Company, LLC was founded by David Parkins in 2004 to
provide
aircraft systems development and certification consulting, as well as
research and development of aircraft safety systems. With over 29 years
of aircraft icing certification and systems development experience, and
an on-staff FAA Designated Engineering Representative specializing in
the certification of aircraft ice protection and sensing systems,
American
Kestrel can support your research, development and/or certification
programs.
David Parkins has a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and an M.Eng. in
Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering. In addition to being a Licensed
Engineer in New York State and an FAA Designated Engineering
Representative, he is a licensed private pilot with an instrument
rating.
The above aircraft is a Piper
Cherokee 6 (PA32-260), flown by David Parkins,
and
based at Ithaca Tompkins Regional Airport, located in the heart of the
Finger Lakes. Flying has been a source of motivation for Mr. Parkins
with respect to his involvement in aircraft certification and aircraft
icing in particular. Having a pilot on staff provides unique insight
into various operational and system integration issues.
